As someone who is finally working on learning about the mix and not being a little wuss wuss, I just want to go ahead and say on behalf of me and my deathhead soulmate bff of the last 15 or so years, we appreciate a lot Boss & we also appreciate the fact, you specifically made sure the supplied audio you were FLATINING was a part with the Euros Blast Cuttttin because we have always cut euroblast no matter the cost but no loss & it's nice getting notes from the big boy Boss himself who geniunely smiles when he hears fucking EURO BLAST CUTTTTing with riffs.. I'm stoked to finally work, learn and release my own death music insteaad of going to a studio and we definitely add you as a contributor. Yeah. Boss. Flatline 2. Riffs. Cutting. Euro Blast.

The Neumann kh 310 are fantastic, I think the problem is in your ears 🤷

What people in the comments don't understand, and I'm not sure if the original poster understands this.. the beryllium tweeter will not distort as a "normal" fabric tweeter will. And it feels like it's more revealing, but the issue with the beryllium (idk how you spell that) is that you can push them indefinitely without them distorting. Which basically means that your mixes may not translate well to other systems because they might be top heavy. I had listened to the "normal" fabric tweeters my whole life, and when I switched to the focal 11be, my first two mixes sounded amazing.. until I played them on any other system. Then it felt like my ears were bleeding from the amount of high end in those mixes. So I realized that I had to tame them every time, and I kept my quested vh2108 just to check the highs on them. So the kh310's tweeter is not dull, nor boring, nor is it hissy - it's simply a different design, and it will give you a good representation on what your high end will sound like on most of the systems.

I think your room is the problem, not the speaker.

Why some people rave about the Opal I will never understand. He claims that the first run with beryllium tweeters were in a different league. The Opals were never a finished product and the company never stood behind their products. The new Neuman KH150's are very good. the PSI monitors are excellent as well.

The KH 310 is very good as a near field monitor. A muted speaker sounds a little more subdued than a bass reflex system. I can't understand the problems with the heights. The KH 310 is very analytical. I own the original version of the 310 from Klein & Hummel, produced until 2013 in Germany.

I like every minute of your elaboration, Ermine, and have liked it, but to be honest I keep asking myself how can anyone judge any speaker by playing synthetic sounds through them... the only true reference would be acoustic instruments, especially classical music, or at least jazz, and above all - the human voice solo.

The bass sounds so amazing, I can't even focus on the rest.
